Tierra Verde Addition

The Tierra Verde House has beautiful east-facing views of Tampa Bay and the Sunshine Skyway Bridge from the back of the house. The existing exterior space previously consisted of a deck structure that was in disrepair and did not integrate with the architecture of the house. The bulky railings blocked the expansive views of the bay. The owners wanted to keep the expansive outdoor living space they had, but in a way that seamlessly blended with the Spanish style architecture.

Our goal was to extend the house to create an open, but integrated outdoor space that has unobstructed views to the bay. Along with the overall design, we assisted with selections of the exterior materials including the stucco and trim colors along with the matching tile and paver material that spans from the exterior decks to the patio around the pool. Shade screens were integrated into the main floor deck to allow for use during sunny mornings when the sun is directly facing the back of the house, while still allowing views out to the bay. We also assisted on redesigning the fireplace to better fit the scale and style of the great room.
